Upgrading or downgrading a plan
Your plan is not fixed — you can move up as your portfolio grows or move down if you need to. What matters most to understand is what happens to your work when a plan change turns an app off: the data is hidden, never deleted, and it comes back the moment you re-enable that app.
Moving up
Upgrading raises your seat and branch caps. Apps are not tied to a plan — every app is available on every plan and is switched on through the app switchboard when you are ready to use it.
Moving down
Downgrading lowers your caps and narrows the available apps. If a plan change means an app is no longer part of your plan, that app is disabled — and this is where the important guarantee applies.
When an app is turned off, its data is hidden from view, not erased. Re-enable the app on a later upgrade and everything is restored exactly as it was. You can downgrade without fear of losing history.
What to check before you change
- Seats — a downgrade to fewer seats means confirming which staff logins remain active.
- Branches — a lower branch cap needs your operating locations to fit within it.
- Apps — note which apps will be disabled so your team knows their data is hidden until re-enabled.
- SMS rate — your per-message overage rate changes with the tier (TZS 20 / 18 / 15).
