Why we exist
Millions of Tanzanians are served by microfinance institutions, SACCOs, and community savings groups — yet the software running them is too often a generic import that doesn't understand BOT reporting, VICOBA cycles, or a field officer collecting cash off-grid. Ustawi exists to give these institutions software built for how they actually operate, in their own language, under their own regulator.

What we believe
"Ustawi" is Kiswahili for prosperity, welfare, thriving — the outcome the institutions we serve exist to create. Our design system carries the same idea: emerald for growth, gold for prosperity, and a deep navy/ink for trust. We believe compliance should be built into the workflow rather than bolted on as paperwork, that transparency (real published pricing, honest placeholders) beats enterprise-sales opacity, and that Kiswahili-first is a design principle, not a translation afterthought.

Ustawi in numbers
To give every Tanzanian lending institution — from a single-branch VICOBA to a multi-branch MFI — software built for how they actually operate: in Kiswahili, under their own regulator, and reliable in the field where the work happens.
A financial sector where every institution serving Tanzanians runs on transparent, compliant, locally-built infrastructure — so credit reaches more people, more safely.
What we value
Designed around BOT reporting, VICOBA cycles, check-off lending and field collection — not generic software translated after the fact.
Affordability, AML screening, classification and audit trails live inside the workflow, not in a separate binder.
Bilingual by design so loan officers and field agents work in the language they actually use.
Real, published pricing and no fabricated traction. We show the product as it is.
Offline-capable so cash collection and receipts keep working where connectivity doesn't.
Per-tenant isolation, role-based access and a full audit trail — because this is our customers' financial data.
