Handling a missed contribution or late fine

When a member misses a contribution, it is not quietly dropped. Ustawi records the miss at the next meeting entry, and where the group's rules provide for it, that miss can trigger a configured fine — so nothing is silently waived and the group's record stays complete.

A miss is logged, not lost

A missed contribution is captured at the next meeting register entry, alongside the shares, social-fund contributions and fines for that session. Because the miss is part of the same entry every officer already uses, it becomes part of the group's record rather than something a coordinator has to remember to chase separately.

When a fine applies

Whether a missed contribution or a late attendance carries a fine depends on the group's rules. Where a fine is configured, the miss can trigger it, and the fine is recorded as a distinct fine contribution in the meeting entry. Fines collected flow into the fund ledger and become part of the earnings the group shares out at cycle end — so a fine is not just a penalty, it is income to the fund.

  1. 1
    Record the miss
At the next meeting, log the member's missed contribution in the register entry.
  2. 2
    Apply the configured fine
If the group's rules attach a fine to that miss, capture it as a fine so it posts to the fund ledger.
  3. 3
    Let it carry to share-out
The fine income sits in the distributable fund, and the member's shorter share position is reflected in their eventual payout.
Nothing is silently waived

The system does not absorb a missed contribution on its own. A waiver, if the group allows one, is a decision the group records — not a gap the software hides.
