Enabling Apps

On this page

What is the app switchboard

A per-tenant admin screen that turns entire product areas on or off without a deployment. It is how Ustawi supports very different institution types — a pure VICOBA network and a check-off salary lender — from one platform.

Core vs optional apps

Core (always on): Lending, Finance/Ledger, Admin/RBAC, Reports. Optional: Compliance, AML/FIU, Collateral & Insurance, Check-off, Collections, Group Lending & VICOBA, Field Sales, Integrations, and the Mobile field app.

Turning on an app

Administration → app switchboard → toggle → confirm. Compliance-sensitive apps like AML may require dual-control sign-off before the toggle takes effect.

App dependencies

Enabling Check-off surfaces the employer MOU and payroll-batch screens. Enabling VICOBA surfaces the fund ledger and meeting register. The AML app gates sanctions/PEP screening on new client onboarding.

Turning on AML or Compliance mid-operation may require a data backfill for existing clients — plan for it.

Apps can be switched off again if you're just evaluating — no data is deleted, only hidden.
