Accessibility Statement
Preamble
Ustawi ("Ustawi") is committed to making our marketing website, customer portal, and mobile field-agent application usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
1. Standard We Target
We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA across our public website and product surfaces — including a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text, 44px+ minimum tap/click targets, full keyboard navigability, and screen-reader-compatible markup.
2. What We've Done
Consistent focus-visible states across all interactive elements; a fail-closed role-based UI (nothing renders that a user can't act on, avoiding disabled-but-visible confusion); bilingual SW/EN labeling throughout, benefiting users who read one language more fluently than the other; light and dark theme support for users with light-sensitivity; JetBrains Mono figure styling chosen partly for numeral legibility (distinct zero/O, one/l/I).
3. Known Limitations
Known limitations at this time include: some complex data tables and charts in the portal are not yet fully optimised for screen readers, and a small number of older PDF exports may not be fully tagged for accessibility. We work through identified issues on a rolling basis and aim to address any critical barrier reported to us within 90 days. These are indicative demo details.
4. The Mobile Field-Agent App
The field-collection app is designed for use by agents in the field, including outdoor/bright-light conditions and offline connectivity; it has been tested for readability in bright outdoor conditions and for large, high-contrast tap targets, though formal screen-reader testing of the mobile app is still in progress.
5. Requesting an Accommodation or Reporting a Barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier using our website, portal, or mobile app, or need information in an alternative format, contact us via /contact or support@ustawi.co.tz. Please include the page/screen, the assistive technology you were using (if any), and a description of the issue — we aim to acknowledge reports within 5 business days.
6. Ongoing Work
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing commitment, not a one-time audit; this statement is reviewed and updated as the product evolves.
7. Third-Party Content
Where our site links to or embeds third-party content (e.g. a payment provider's hosted page), that content's accessibility is governed by the third party's own practices.
