Why is my loan stuck at committee review?
When a loan sits at committee longer than expected, it is almost always waiting on a specific piece of evidence rather than a subjective decision. Ustawi surfaces the reason so you can clear it rather than guess.
The common holds
- Affordability assessment missing or stale — if the requested amount changed after the last check, affordability must be re-run.
- CRB check incomplete — a required credit-reference-bureau pull has not returned or was not run for a product that requires it.
- A requirement gate is unmet — for example collateral not yet registered, or (for check-off) no live employer MOU.
- Documents outstanding — a KYC or product-specific document the committee needs to decide is still not attached.
How to clear it
Open the loan and look at its outstanding items. Attach the missing document, re-run the affordability check, or complete the CRB pull, and the loan becomes actionable for the committee again. Because approval is gated on these items being present, providing them is usually all that is needed to unblock the case.
Top-up requests
Increasing the requested amount re-runs affordability against the new figure, which can send a loan back for review — this is expected, not an error.
